IDC의 최신 연구 결과에 따르면, 디지털 하드카피 기기로 인쇄된 페이지 수량이 2010년 전세계적으로 3조1천 억 페이지를 넘어선 것으로 조사됐다. 아시아/태평양(일본제외), 남미, 중/동부 유럽, 중동, 아프리카와 같은 개발도상 지역들의 경우 페이지 수량이 2009년 대비 7.3% 성장세를 보인 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 미국, 서유 럽, 캐나다, 일본과 같은 선진 시장은 1.3% 감소하여, 이 두 시장을 합친 전세계 페이지 수량은 총 1.4% 성장 한 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 남미 및 중/동부 유럽 시장은 두자릿수 성장세를 기록했다.
