1분기 세계 스마트폰 시장 성장세 지속, 삼성 스마트폰 및 전체 휴대폰 시장서 모두 1위

올 1분기 세계 휴대폰 시장이 전년동기대비해 1.5% 감소한 가운데, 삼성이 노키아를 제치고 1위를 차지한 것으로 나타났다. IDC의 'Worldwide Mobile Phone Tracker' 연구 조사에 따르면, 올 1분기 세계 휴대폰 출하량은 3억9,840만대로 지난해 1분기의 4억430만대 대비 1.5% 감소하였다. IDC에서 글로벌 휴대폰 연구를 담당하는 케빈 레스티보(Kevin Restivo) 책임연구원은 “노키아는 2004년 IDC가 휴대폰 시장 조사를 시작한 이래 줄곧 1위를 차지했었다”며, 삼성의 상승세는 지난 2년간의 스마트폰 시장에서의 성공을 반영한다고 말했다. 이어 그는 “스마트폰 시장의 급속한 성장세가 삼성에게 유리하게 작용했고, 다양한 시장에서 기존 통신사들과의 관계를 잘 활용해 기존 강자인 노키아를 제칠수 있었다”고 덧붙였다. 한편, 1분기 세계 스마트폰 시장은 전년동기대비 42.5% 성장한 가운데, 스마트폰 시장에서도 삼성이 애플을 제치고 1위를 차지한 것으로 나타났다. 출하량 규모는 2011년의 1억 170만대 대비해 1억4,490만대로 늘어났다. IDC의 Mobile Phone Technology and Trend 팀의 라몬 라마스(Ramon Llams) 책임연구원은 "애플과 삼성은 각각 핵심 분야에서 성장세를 기록하면서, 이번 분기에도 치열한 경쟁구도를 유지했다"며, "애플은 아이폰4S를 중국과 같은 다른 핵심 시장에서도 추가로 출시하였고, 삼성의 경우에도 갤럭시 노트 스마트폰/태블릿 및 갤럭시 스마트폰의 성공이 지속됐다. 다른 기업들이 중대한 전략적 변화를 겪고있는 가운데, 애플과 삼성은 큰 인기가 예상되는 새로운 모델들이 출시됨에 따라 경쟁이 지속될 것으로 보인다"고 설명했다.
