IDC, 지난해 4분기 글로벌 스마트폰 출하량 54.7% 성장

- 연말 시즌 및 다양한 제품 출시에 힘입어 사상 최대 분기 실적 기록 2011년 4분기 세계 스마트폰 시장이 아이폰 4S의 인기에 힘입어 전년 동기 대비 54.7% 성장한 것으로 나타났다. IDC의 'Worldwide Mobile Phone Tracker' 연구 조사에 따르면, 2011년 4분기 전세계 스마트폰 출하량은 1억 5,780만대로 2010년 4분기의 1억 200만대 대비 54.7% 성장한 것으로 조사됐다. 이는 당초 전망치인 40%를 크게 웃도는 수치이며, 전분기인 2011년 3분기때의 49.2% 보다도 높은 성장세이다. 2011년 연간 스마트폰 출하량은 4억 9,140만대를 기록하며 2010년의 연간 출하량 3억 470만대 대비 61.3% 성장한 것으로 조사됐다. 이는 IDC의 당초 전망치인 54.7%를 넘어섰지만, 전년도인 2010년의 연간 성장률 75.7% 보다는 낮은 성장률이다. 비록 스마트폰 시장 성장세가 다소 둔화되기는 했지만, IDC는 당분간 이 시장이 두자리수 성장세를 지속할 것으로 내다보고 있다. IDC의 Mobile Phone Technology and Trend 팀의 라몬 라마스(Ramon Llams) 책임연구원은 "스마트폰은 여전히 시장에서 가장 인기있는 컨수머 전자제품 중의 하나였고, 이는 주요 기기들이 출시된 영향이 컸다"고 언급하고, 4분기 말까지 전세계에서 출하된 휴대폰 3대 중 1대는 스마트폰이었다고 설명했다. 이어 라마스 연구원은 "애플의 아이폰 4S 출시가 억눌렸던 수요를 끌어올려 스마트폰 성장을 이끄는 핵심 역할을 했으며, 다른 벤더들도 스마트폰을 출시함으로써 다양한 기호와 예산을 충족시킬 수 있는 넓은 선택의 폭을 제공했다"고 덧붙였다. 한편, 스마트폰 제조사들이 신흥시장 및 선진국 시장 모두에서 각각 사용자 기반을 확대하려 노력함에 따라 다양한 제품군이 출시되고 있는 모습이다.
