Research Director, Manufacturing Insights
Christopher Holmes is a Research Director for Manufacturing Insights in Asia/Pacific and is responsible for driving the overall direction of the manufacturing research in the region. Chris has over 16 years of experience in manufacturing, from research and development management, through new product development, to shop floor experience.

Prior to joining IDC, Chris pioneered the development and implementation of the operation and technology roadmapping (OTR) program while working for Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech), part of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A-Star) in Singapore. He has led over 50 roadmaps helping Singapore-based manufacturing companies develop plans to enable their decision making process in the development and acquisition of new operations technology and product development plans.

Before relocating to Singapore, Chris worked in the aerospace sector in the UK, initially as a research engineer leading projects to reduce lead time in aero-engine overhaul, and then working towards his doctorate aiding a first-tier aerospace supplier to speed up its new product development process.

Chris has written many articles and given many lectures in the areas of technology management and product development. He is a certified professional facilitator (CPF) by the International Association of Facilitators (IAF).

Chris holds a Doctor of Engineering (EngD) degree from Warwick University, UK. This was completed while working in industry and as part of the Warwick Manufacturing Group. He holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree from the University of Glamorgan, UK, again, completed while working in industry and a Bachelor of Science degree from The City of Birmingham Polytechnic, UK.

Lim Yeong Chuan

Supply Chain Council
LIM Yeong Chuan (MSc, BEng) is a senior business consultant in iCognitive. Yeong Chuan has provided consulting services to a wide range of clients - manufacturing, oil and gas, electronics, food and beverage, tobacco, consumer products, logistics, chemicals, defence and solution providers in the area of supply chain reconfiguration, operational improvement, assessment, SCOR implementation and technology deployment.

He is the SCOR advisor for British American Tobacco Pakistan. For the outstanding results, British American Tobacco Pakistan won the Supply Chain Operational Excellence Award 2005 and the overall Global Award for Supply Chain Excellence 2005 from the Supply Chain Council.

Since 2001 he leads and coordinates several activities on behalf of the Supply Chain Council, SEA Chapter.

Yeong Chuan obtained his BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) in the United Kingdom. This is followed by a MSc in Operations Management from UMIST School of Management.

Associate Research Director, Manufacturing Insights
Randy Sng is an Associate Research Director with Manufacturing Insights Asia/Pacific based in Singapore. His primary responsibility is the analysis and research of manufacturing industry with deliverables in the areas of: Market and Competitive Analysis, Technology Trends and Predictions, End-user Demands and Preferences and Business Models & Practices.

Randy brings a strong manufacturing operations and IT background to Manufacturing Insights. On the manufacturing front, he has 20 years of diverse experience in managing the P&L, production operations, supply chain management, information technology, product transfer and project management. A strong leader with a proven track record in organizations such as General Electric, Rosemount, Adaptec and Makino, Randy has demonstrated his ability to grow business, set up factory operations and expansion, lead major contract negotiations and implement profit margin improvement programs.

Armed with 10 years of professional IT experience in Oracle, JD Edwards and Sun Microsystems, Randy was involved in business development, partner management, go-to-market, pre-sales support, content and solutions development, and account planning for the manufacturing industry.

Randy is an articulate speaker at seminars and conferences in manufacturing solutions such as Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Supply Chain Management (SCM), Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).

Randy graduated from Oklahoma City University (U.S.) with an MBA (High Honors) degree and also holds an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration (UK), Diploma in Management Studies and Certificate from Singapore Polytechnic.
Deane Hornsby
Deane Hornsby

Director, Industry Marketing, Avaya Asia Pacific
Deane Hornsby is Avaya's Asia Pacific Industry Marketing Director. His responsibilities include the Manufacturing Industry, as well as other key Industries including: Financial Services, Government, Healthcare, Retail, Wholesale and Hospitality industries.

Mr Hornsby has extensive industry solutions experience having worked across software, hardware and services disciplines and a deep knowledge of industry business imperatives gained from working directly with leading industry clients.

Prior to joining Avaya, Mr. Hornsby spent 10 years in IBM, leading industry and industry channels programs throughout Asia Pacific.

Deane has 20 years experience in IT sales and marketing, and holds a Masters degree in Business Administration.
