Sr. Research Manager, Enterprise Group, IDC Korea |
Soonyul Chang is the Analyst of Software research in IDC Korea, being responsible for in-depth research of software areas such as infrastructure management, security, operating system, and so on.
He transferred from the Consulting group in IDC Korea. He was responsible for managing customized consulting requirement from clients on IT service sector. His consulting areas include PC, Peripherals, Commercial Systems & Servers, Storage, Software, IT Services, Telecommunications & Data communications, and Internet. In his role, he coordinated consulting service with IDC regional & worldwide analysts.
Prior to joining IDC, Mr. Chnag was the Director of Consulting in EarlyExit for two years. His role was to identify, develop business strategy and fund the potential technology start-up companies; accelerate them to market; and prepare them for exit, and provide market research to define clients¡¯ potential market and develop their new business model. Prior to joining EarlyExit, Mr. Chang had managed a two-way business gateway between the U.S. and Korea as business-developing director of Korean Software Incubator (KSI), whose main role is to search, assess, develop, and provide facilities to enable small- and medium-sized Korean technology companies to launch their products and services in the U.S. market.
Previously, Mr. Chang worked for the technical consulting area and provided information technology consulting services to small and medium businesses in system integration of hardware, software and computer networking area
He has received a B.A. degree in Management Information System from the San Jose State University in San Jose, California. |

Kenichi Itoh
Senior Vice President, Platform Solution Center (PSC), Fujitsu |
Kenichi Itoh has a long history in mission critical platform development and¡¡the software processes and validation needed to maximize their use in customer infrastructure. Since 2007 he has been Senior Vice President in charge of Fujitsu's Platform Solution Center (PSC). This is the main verification center for customer proof-of-concept confirmation and benchmarking. PSC is also located in Korea, China, Singapore and other countries. Very customer focused, it also provides a range of services and consultancy for the construction of optimal systems for particular business needs. His career with Fujitsu Japan started in the mainframe operating system (OS) development division. From where in 1985 he was seconded to Amdahl Corp. in the United States to work on Supercomputer OS. On his return, in 1988, he was promoted to manager of his original OS development division in Japan. This was followed by a move to UNIX server planning and the development of UNIX operating systems in the 1990s. In the early 2000's Mr. Itoh was promoted to General Manager of UNIX strategic partner alliances and subsequently General Manager of UNIX server business. He has a degree of B.Sc. in mathematics from Tokyo University in 1976 and MBA from McGill University in Canada in 1999.
In anticipation of this conference he has also been trying to learn a little of the Korean language. |
