Gigi Wang
Gigi Wang

Senior Vice President
As Senior Vice President of Strategy, Gigi Wang leads the development of IDC's business strategy. In this role, she works closely with the research, sales, and senior management teams to evolve IDC's products and services as technology markets evolve. She also represents IDC in public forums, presenting new analysis, insight, and research in the IT and telecommunications markets. Additionally, Ms. Wang leads the executive outreach to IDC's client companies.



Ms. Wang joined IDC in 1990, and, until 2002, was senior vice president of Worldwide Communications and Internet Research. She directed the research, consulting, and marketing of IDC's Communications group, growing the business 16-fold during that time. She also launched IDC's first Internet research in the early 1990s and managed the research and marketing of that group.



Ms. Wang's career in information technology has spanned more than 20 years, and her research and analysis is often cited in business journals and technical publications. She has appeared on CNN, CNBC, CBS, NPR, and other local stations. Prior to joining IDC, she was a Research Director with the Yankee Group and held several positions at Wang Laboratories. Ms. Wang started her career with IBM, first in the Data Processing Division and later in the National Accounts Division. She has also served on the operations board of Computerworld, the advisory committee of the Internet Commerce Expo, and was a founding member of the Standard for Internet Commerce. Ms. Wang holds a BS in operations research from Cornell University and an MS in management from the University of Massachusetts.

Philippe de Marcillac

Executive Vice President, International Business Units, IDC
Philippe de Marcillac has more than 25 years of international experience in strategic business management and Information Communications and Technology (ICT) market research across the diverse markets of United States, Europe, and Asia.

As Executive Vice President for IDC's International Business Units, Philippe oversees IDC's International Group which includes the management of business and research operations in Canada, Latin America, Japan, and Asia/Pacific. He also has an advisory role for research operations in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa (CEMA). Philippe is based in Hong Kong but he also maintains a base at IDC's head office in Framingham, Massachusetts and frequently travels through Asia/Pacific, Europe, and the Americas.

Well-known in the IT industry, Philippe's expertise lies in International Markets, PCs, Enterprise Systems and Solutions, and the ICT market research. He also focuses on emerging markets, particularly the large markets of Brazil, Russia, India, and China (BRIC), and dynamics around the movement of offshore IT delivery to BRIC and other locations.

Philippe first joined IDC in 1982 and launched IDC's first pan-European research services. During the last two years of his tenure with IDC in Europe, he managed IDC's European Research Centre. Prior to rejoining IDC in 1995, he was Vice President of Worldwide PC research at Dataquest.

Philippe graduated from Cambridge University in England with a Master's Degree in Natural Sciences. He is fluent in French and conversant in German.
Danielle Levitas
Danielle Levitas

Vice President, Consumer and Broadband Markets, IDC
Danielle Levitas is the vice president of IDC's Consumer and Broadband Markets group. She is responsible for driving research initiatives within the services. In addition to writing analysis on the digital TV and DVD markets, Ms. Levitas serves as IDC¡¯s consumer market expert and conducts custom consulting research across the segment. She is a driven professional with a strong commitment to customer service, advising her clients on a variety of industry trends and developments.

The Consumer Markets programs track trends in gaming, digital audio, digital television, set-top boxes, TV services, DVD, online consumer behavior, home networking, and more. The Broadband Markets and Technologies program tracks consumer and enterprise broadband adoption by technology. Included in all of these services are global forecasts of the technologies based on unit shipments or subscribers, revenues, and average selling price, as well as extensive vendor analysis on market positioning and segment trends. The group also conducts numerous surveys throughout the year to create a solid foundation for the research.

In 2001, Ms. Levitas launched IDC's Interactive Consumer Services programs, expanding IDC's coverage in gaming and TV research. In 2004, she expanded IDC¡¯s consumer research products to create dedicated programs for the home networking and audio markets and helped launch IDC¡¯s regional consumer research programs. Prior to joining IDC's Consumer Device and Technologies service in 2000, she was a research manager for IDC's storage service, responsible for conducting research on the worldwide storage market. Since joining IDC's Storage program in 1995, Ms. Levitas focused on the worldwide Winchester disk drive market and its components and in 1998, launched IDC's first U.S. Storage Mechanism end-user survey, which identified market trends for storage in consumer and commercial environments. In 1999, she created IDC's first hard disk drive forecast by consumer application. Ms. Levitas has a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Dan Kusnetzky

Vice President, System Software
Daniel Kusnetzky, Vice President of IDC's System Software research, is responsible for research and analysis on the worldwide market for operating environments and the fabric of distributed computing software known as the virtual environment which is the foundation of Dynamic IT for the Dynamic Enterprise. The operating environments include Windows, Unix, Linux, and other single user and multiuser operating environments. Virtual environment software includes virtual user interface software, virtual application environment software, virtual processing software and virtual storage software. He examines emerging technology trends, vendor strategies, research and development issues, and end-user integration requirements.



Mr. Kusnetzky regularly advises end users, independent trade organizations, the trade press, and vendors on relevant issues. He has spoken at forums such as Comdex, Internet World Expo, Internet Commerce Expo, Linux World Expo, Linux Business Expo, UniForum, Unix Expo, PC Expo, DECworld, NetWorld, and specific vendor oriented user group conferences, as well as internal vendor-specific events such as marketing and sales meetings, field training, and partner recruitment. His opinions have been published in publications such as Boston Globe, Byte, ComputerWorld, Communications Week, Information Week, InfoWorld, Investor¡¯s Business Daily, Network World, New York Times, PC Week, PC World, San Jose Mercury News, Wall Street Journal, and others. He has also appeared on BBC, CNN, CNNfn, CNBC, MSNBC and on both NPR's All Things Considered and Marketplace.



Mr. Kusnetzky's experience offers him working knowledge of the different stages of the life cycle for new products ranging from research and development to market development. Prior to joining IDC, Mr. Kusnetzky worked for more than 17 years in the industry. Nearly 15 of those years were with Digital Equipment Corporation. Mr. Kusnetzky was responsible for program management, product management, and marketing in the areas of client software, server software, clustered systems, and networked systems. He was also a software consultant delivering custom projects based upon database, personal computer and office automation software.

David Tapper
David Tapper

Research Director, IT Outsourcing and Utility Services, and Global Offshore Services, IDC
David Tapper serves as research director for the IT Outsourcing and Utility Services (ITOUS) research program, and the Global Offshore research program. As research director for IDC's IT Outsourcing and Utility Services research, Mr. Tapper provides market analysis, commentary, and client support on companies that provide IT outsourcing services to customers. His coverage areas include traditional datacenter outsourcing; network and desktop management and outsourcing; and various flavors of ¡°managed¡± services including, what is commonly referred to as, "managed" Web hosting. In addition, ITOUS follows the current shift in the market toward the delivery of utility computing or ¡°on-demand¡± services.

As research director for IDC's Global Offshore Services program, Mr. Tapper provides market analysis and commentary on issues and trends involving the move of IT and business services to offshore locations at a global level as well as how both established global players and offshore competitors are leveraging offshore strategies.

Prior to joining IDC, Mr. Tapper served as a Product Manager and Database Manager at Yankee Publishing, Inc. Mr. Tapper earned a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Arts from University of Rochester.
